Melanie's Wedding by Tessa Thewes Photography
Wedding season is upon us, and so far these are my favorite photos taken by Tessa Thewes Photography. I love when photographers take up close photos of the bride and really capture their beauty on such a special day. It also works out well for me to showcase my work. I did the hair and make up for this lovely bride. Though I cannot take credit for the creativity in the hairstyle. Lately with the Pinterest phenomenon brides are collecting many ideas for their wedding hairstyles from almost one source. Stephankie Brinkerhoff. This is the fourth bride I've had bring copies of her photos they found on Pinterest. That says something about Stephanie, and I want to be on that same path that she is on!! I look up to her for hair inspiration along with Patrick Cameron. So here is my rendition of Stephanie's Belle Hairstyle. The best compliment was that Tessa, the photographer came in and said that she had recognized this hairstyle from Pinterest. Nailed it!

Miami Sunset
We keep bouncing from Spring to Summer temperatures here, so in lieu of that I was inspired by Miami's summer sunsets and did this look that also fits for spring. I haven't seen the colors I used added to Sauce Box's list of products you can purchase except for the temptation palette.
Products
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- MAC Cream Color Base
- MAC Eye shadow in Mylar
- Sauce Box Temptation Palette the Blue purple tone turned really purple on top of the other colors
- Sauce Box Lu-Lu (a coraly pink not available on the website)
- Sauce Box Dramatica ( a matte red color not available on the website)
- Cailyn Cosmetics Cream liner
- Maybelline Mascara The Rocket Volume Express
Sauce Box Silver Screen Smokey Eyes & Limecrime Alchemy Palette Part2
So on my previous post I did not use the purple, so here is another look you can do using the Limecrime Alchemy Fantasy Palette. They dark blue has a green shimmer to it and so does the purple. They look fantastic together. I paired it up with Sauce Box's Silver Screen. An awesome matte navy blue eyeshadow.
I covered my lid starting with Sauce Box Silver Screen all the way up to the crease, then I used the dark blue from Lime crime and blended that just into the crease then very lightly dusting the purple above that and finished off with the white gold under the brows and inner corner of the eye. Using the same shades and a smudge brush I placed the shadows under the eye in the same pattern. It's an overall easy look to achieve with a beautifier finish!

Limecrime Alchemy
Here is a look I did using my new Limecrime Fantasy Palette in Alchemy. I used my friend Jessie's eyes because I absolutely love her color and it's easier to take pictures of someone else's eye than my own.
I blended the copper into the high part of the crease and the white gold under the brows as a highlight. Then took the dark teal color into the outer corner and inner corner of the eyes up to the crease and placed the emerald color right in the center of the lids to create a pop of color. Then took that same method underneath to complete this smokey look. Next time I will be using the blue and purple!

Bel Vino Winery Open House
.
Jen & Jess |
Let me just start by saying, this place is beautiful and the house to get ready in is fantastic. The ladies who work on coordinating weddings there are so sweet too. I want to go back when the grapes are starting to appear cause I'm sure it will look stunning.
We weren't really sure what to expect and our last expo was very chaotic so we had planned that one of us would do makeup while the other would chat with brides. It turned out much calmer and we only had the opportunity to do make up on a lovely vendor who felt bad for our make up chair and kit sitting there all day not being used and volunteered her lovely face.

She was ready to go out dancing that night |
If you ask us what we did all day besides talking to brides and mingling with our neighbor vendors, we ate and ate and got on a sugar high.
These chocolate covered strawberries were amazing!!! |

So delicious, the caramel one was my favorite |

Sauce Box Temptation Palette Look
Yesterday I did a look using my new Sauce Box Temptation Palette and for the highlights I used white and cream from the Lorac Palette Pro. The shadows have so much color pigment that a little goes a long way. I used the two blue shades and lightly used the orange under neath my highlights. I also didn't wear false lashes so I can show you what their mascara does. I don't believe it is up on their website yet. I got it as a gift with purchase at The Makeup Show. The wand is not a bristle wand but a rubber wand like Covergirl's Lash blast. It's non clumping, adds nice length and is buildable. I have two coats on. In person it looked much brighter, I'm under a yellow light in my hallway. I still haven't mastered taking a photo of my own eye. Hopefully you can get an idea of how amazing these shadows are with my photos. Eventually I will own all their shadows!

The Makeup Show LA
The Makeup Show was this past weekend and it was a success! For the last couple weeks I had researched all the brands going to the show and planned out my path of shopping destruction. Jennifer and I planned to get there as soon as it opened and I do not regret getting up at 6am to get ready and be one of the first ones there. They even took our picture as one of the firsts in line! I'm in the beige blouse in the middle of the photo.
It was great being one of the firsts because the brands had the time to chat with you and you felt as if they valued your interest and at times I actually had them selling their product to me. At IMATS these last couple of times we were shoulder to shoulder just trying to move in closer to the tables and hoping you'll just be able to put in an order. I felt as if I was bothering them by asking questions. This was a totally different experience. IMATS used to be like this a few years ago, kind of like the way Comi-con became Comi-con. I kept seeing posts from people before hand saying it was only for professionals or Pro card carriers but when I registered for it, it only asked for my company name and I was never asked for a pro card of any type. Another great thing about going early is that they have amazing deals on their best sellers and if you show up late, they will be sold out.
My first stop was Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics where I purchased some Lip Tars for $12 each. I own a lot of their eyeshadows already and was hoping to purchase their Airbrushing kits but unfortunately they didn't have any there. Here's a pic provided by The Makeup Show, but these two were super helpful and very nice!
My favorite finds of the day were Saucebox's eyeshadows, selling for 4 for $20. The owner Alla is the sweetest person ever. I love that she was there the whole time. Last time we saw her it was at IMATS and it was her first time there. This is a brand to watch as it grows. I'm sure we will be seeing her products in large Department stores and Sephora soon.
This is her hand covered in her swatches with no primer
These are the colors I was playing with, once again no primer!
We visited our sponsors, Model in a bottle who gave us a generous amount of their products for our raffle next weekend at the Bel Vino Temecula Winery. We also have one of each of their products to use in our kit. I will take pics of those products individually and post about them next week.
Another highlight of my day was meeting the gorgeous Doe Deere from Limecrime and having her recognize my lip color was her one and only Airborne Unicorn! Jennifer is wearing the Geradium, a bright radioactive pink.

Spring is Coming
All your favorite department stores are officially in full swing of Spring and let me tell you, it's going to be a bright one! Emerald may be the color of the year but all the brand are lovin up on jewel tones, oranges and pinks. Any makeup enthusiast and color lover is going to be heaven with all these richly pigmented eye shadows. I absolutely love bold colors and would totally wear these looks but if they are a little too much for your taste I recommend trying something like Emma Watson's look by Lancome.
